Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

This autumn, Hallie and I are running marathons for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Hallie is running the Chicago Marathon (10/12) and I’m running the New York City Marathon (11/2). Our goal is to raise a total of $2,620. And if you donate you can vote on what I will wear as I run around New York City. It could be Batman, Sparty or even SpongeBob Squarepants. It’s up to you. All you have to do is donate, vote and support an amazing cause.

HALLIE: “This Sunday, 10/12, I will be running the Chicago marathon. Over the last few months I’ve shared the frustrations and pain that so many feel when they have someone they love diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In speaking with those around me it’s clear that this illness touches almost everyone in some way. My hope is that you will help to support both my, and Eric’s, endeavor to fund research that will help to make sure that, moving forward, this illness touches less lives. Thanks in advance to all of you that donate – it means more than I can express.”

ME: “For me this experience is about running every mile for every amazing woman in my life, whether they are in the stage of prevention, detection, treatment, recovery or are cancer-free. I mean, when you have a mom, godmothers, aunts, cousins, girlfriend, girlfriend’s mom, two girl band members, two girl roommates, co-workers and friends you have to do everything you can, and this is what I can do: Run 26.2 miles closer to a world without breast cancer.”
