In addition to voting for the people who represent you at the state and federal level, there’s a pivotal question on the ballot about who draws the legislative districts in Ohio. Redistricting Constitutional Amendment
“Establish the Citizens Redistricting Commission Initiative” is an initiated constitutional amendment on ballots across Ohio this fall. This amendment to Ohio’s state constitution, if passed by a simple majority of Ohio voters, would establish a new process for drawing state and federal legislative districts within Ohio. The amendment would remove current elected officials from the redistricting process, instead giving this power to a 15 member citizens commission comprised of non-politicians, including five Democrats, five Republicans, and five independents.
A YES VOTE:
A “yes” vote supports establishing this new citizens commission.
A “NO” VOTE:
A “no” vote opposes establishing this citizens commission.
