Senior Videographer, Editor & Producer

Primarily responsible for shooting, editing, and delivering content, commercials, social media, and behind the scenes features. The role supports the day-to-day management and execution of all videos powered by the Design and Content departments at shark&minnow. Specific duties for this position include: Editing: 35% (Expertise in assembling all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer;          Expertise in inputting uncut rushes and sound and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer; Expertise in operating computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects; Expertise in digitally cutting files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what’s usable; Expertise in editing footage in post-production; Expertise in creating a ‘rough cut’ (or assembly edit) of the program/film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages; Expertise in reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video; Expertise in establishing a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video’s creation; Expertise in improving video and sound quality using various video software; Expertise in editing video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips, and other important aspects of the project; Expertise in ensuring the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to client’s specifications); Shooting: 35% (Expertise in operating cameras and audio equipment; Expertise in filming videos on set or on location; Expertise in ensuring that equipment for a shoot is present and working; Expertise in planning the shoot with the creative team and the client; Expertise in directing other camera operators so that the needed footage is acquired); Motion graphics: 15% (Expertise in developing animated visual designs for text or imagery featured in the video); Concepting: 10% (Expertise in creating an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to clients and receive approval before beginning to digitally alter video); Administrative: 5% (Attending meetings; Expertise in project management; Domestic travel: 10%; Expertise in task management; Expertise in digital file organization and cataloging).

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, or a similar field; minimum 9 months experience in film and video editor or similar position; special skills: Canon DLSR and Cinema-grade cameras, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Audition
